Save The Planet, Steal Your Wedding

December 18 2009 Fri

How do saving the planet and stealing your wedding go hand in hand? One way to save on your wedding budget is by cutting out all the unnecessary paper products that the wedding industry seems to demand. This will streamline your planning and give you more time to dedicate to getting your guest list together, making hotel reservations for guests, and other big necessities.

Cut out the programs. Even if you have never been to a wedding before, you know what the general layout is and what to expect. What do we do with most programs when the wedding is over? They get left at the church for good. Although at the end of the wedding they have served their purpose, I feel like this is a piece of paper that can be cut out of the budget and wedding planning without being missed.

Do we need menus? I have seen menus handed out as part of the wedding invitation ensemble, at the ceremony itself, and laying on the table right before the meal itself. I think that this is something we can do without as well. No matter what you’re serving, guests will (most likely) eat it. Even if they don’t eat it, telling them what it is beforehand won’t change anything.
